Busy weekend. I spent all day Saturday running a hands-on camp cooking demo for Troop 1 out of New Bedford at my Scout camp, Camp Cachalot in Plymouth, Massachusetts (one of the more frequent things I'm asked to do with the Scout groups I'm involved with.) These are all kids who are new to Scouting, and have very little experience with camp cooking. I was asked to show them the basics of dutch oven cooking, and I like to cover the basics and toss in one or two trickier items, just to show them what's possible (with older kids, I've even done souffls.) This time around, we made malassadas (a Portuguese doughnut-eqsue sweet fried dough) for breakfast, pizzas (both the English muffin pizzas pictured here and some Neapolitan-style pies) for lunch, and caoila sandwiches (a peppery, vinegary Portuguese dish of braised pork shoulder) with French fries and sweet corn casserole for dinner. Turned out a pineapple-pecan upside-down cake and apple crisp for dessert, too.

I press a key on the keyboard and nothing happens. I see all zeros on the 7 segment display. Also it isn't clear how the terminal is involved in the demo. Perhaps it is only part of the Baysis demo. Is the code supposed to be displayed on the terminal app as well as the 7 segment display.

I will see if I can track down an apple keyboard of some kind and a wireless keyboard to see if they work with this demo, though I do not have high hopes for them working if they require any sort of any additional driver installation.

Problem solved. The fault was because I changed the interrupt pin(default was busy) and used number 11 in the C code where I should have used 17(physical pin 11). Number 11 corresponded to SCLK and was set to IN and I had no clock.

Hello and thank you for the quick reply. SPI is enabled per UM in the rpi and there is an spidev.0.0, are there extra steps? I don't use the ARPI 600, I connected according to the schematics. pin11(changed in code,pin7 reported busy)-CN5.2, MISO-MISO, MOSI-MOSI, CLK-CLK, CS-SS, 3V3-CN6.4, 5V-CN6.5, GND-CN6.6 Is there special wiring?

By default the Pi allows you to use SPI0 with chip select pins on CE0 on GPIO 8 and CE1 on GPIO 7. This is why the GPIO 7 is by default busy. The Pi can be configured to use only 1 chip select. See dtoverlay=spi0-1cs in the Pi documentation.

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Allegheny County conduct plant trials in partnership with the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) and Allegheny County Parks Department. The trial location is located at a busy intersection within North Park, allowing for a prominent and well-maintained floral display with frequent public visitation.

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Blair County formed a relationship with NatureWorks Park, a division of the Blair County Conservation District (BCCD) to provide horticultural education to the community through the use of demonstration gardens, workshops, and classes. The group also worked closely with the park to assist with plant selection for areas of interest including a pollinator garden and a vegetable garden.

The demonstration gardens will be used by Master Gardeners as hands-on learning environments to teach visitors about the care and maintenance of plants showcased in these gardens. For example, classes at the pollinator garden will provide education about the importance of using pollinator friendly plants in home gardens to help protect bees and other pollinators by providing food and shelter. The vegetable garden will be used to show visitors how easy it is to grow food at home that may assist with food insecurities.

Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Clarion County continued work to expand the demonstration garden and greenhouse project located in the Clarion County Park. Following safety guidelines, volunteers enhanced the pollinator garden area, and with the support of a 2020 Walmart grant, installed a 60-foot by 20-foot replacement plastic cover for the greenhouse. Master Gardeners now have space to plan for future educational programs both in the garden and greenhouse.
