BA in Economics -
Business Economics Emphasis
Coming in Fall 2024: The Department of Economics is partnering with the Carlson School of Management (CSOM) to create our new BA in Economics - Business Economics Emphasis major.
Here is a quick summary of the new major:
Foundational courses are Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and Short Calculus (OR Calculus I)
Economics core courses including Microeconomics and Macroeconomics theory
Required coursework in Statistics and Accounting
Electives in International Business, Economic Policy, and Business Economics
Two-three business elective courses taught by Carlson. Choose one area, such as General Business, Accounting, Finance, etc. (See the focus area list.)

If you are interested in declaring Economics - Business Economics Emphasis as your major, we recommend you declare the Economics BA now, then easily switch over next fall to Business Econ.
