Business Card Scanner Manager (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is developed by Shubham Kumar, B.Tech, ECE (Pursuing) at RV Creations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our Android application.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
Business Card Scanner Manager helps you scan, store, search, export, and manage business card contacts. We follow a privacy-first approach:
Your contact library is stored on your device by default
Cloud backup is optional (Premium, sign-in required)
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play — we never receive your payment card, UPI, or bank details
The Free plan may show ads through Google AdMob
Camera — Used only when you scan a business card or QR code with the in-app camera.
Photo picker — Used when you import a card image from your gallery. On Android 13+, the App uses the system photo picker and does not request broad storage or READ_MEDIA_IMAGES permission.
Contacts (device address book) — Used only when you choose to sync or export contacts to Google Contacts (Pro plan). You can decline this permission.
Account information — If you sign in with email, we use Firebase Authentication to create and manage your account (email address, user ID). Guest sign-in may also be available for limited features.
Local app storage — Scanned card data, images, notes, categories, tags, and exports are stored in app-private storage on your device unless you export, share, or use optional cloud backup.
Cloud backup (Premium) — If you subscribe to Premium, sign in with an email account, and tap Create Backup, your contacts and card images are uploaded to Google Firebase Cloud Storage operated for this App. Each user’s backup is stored in a separate folder linked to their account. Only that signed-in user can access their backup through the App. Backup is not automatic — it runs only when you choose.
Pro AI features (Pro plan) — May include:
AI Read Card (Gemini) — card image sent for field extraction
AI contact insights — selected contact fields sent for analysis
LinkedIn / web lookup — name, company, or email used for search
Only data you approve or trigger is sent. We do not sell this data.
Advertising (Free plan) — Banner and app-open ads through Google AdMob. Ad partners may collect device/advertising identifiers per their policies and your device ad settings.
Analytics & crash reports — We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage and fix crashes. This may include device type, app version, and general usage events — not your contact content.
Google Play Billing — When you purchase Premium or Pro, Google Play confirms subscription status. We store your plan tier locally to unlock features. We do not receive payment method details.
Extract text from card images using on-device Google ML Kit OCR (English and Hindi/Devanagari)
Scan QR codes on business cards
Store, search, categorize, tag, and manage your contacts
Detect and merge duplicate contacts
Export to CSV, Excel (.xlsx), PDF, and vCard; import from supported formats

We do not sell your contact library. We do not use your contacts for unsolicited marketing on your behalf.

Sign-in required for subscription: You must sign in with an email account before purchasing Premium or Pro.

Cloud backup is optional and available to Premium users who sign in
Backup includes contact fields and card images you choose to back up
Data is stored on Google Firebase Cloud Storage servers used to operate the App
Each user’s backup is isolated to their account folder
Restore from Cloud downloads your backup back to your device when you choose
You can stop using cloud backup by not creating new backups
Local data on your phone remains unless you delete it or uninstall the App
Cloud storage costs are borne by the developer; users are not billed separately by Firebase
On device: Contacts and images remain in local app storage until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall.
In cloud: Backup copies remain until you delete them or we remove them as part of service maintenance (we may introduce backup retention limits in future updates).
Subscription status: Stored locally and verified through Google Play.

We use reasonable technical measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for cloud and AI features. No method is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device, Google account, and app sign-in credentials.

Decline camera, contacts, or other permissions in Android Settings
Cancel subscriptions anytime in Google Play
Opt out of personalized ads via Android Settings → Google → Ads

The App is primarily designed for users in India. If you use it from other countries, your data may be processed on servers located where our service providers operate (including Google Cloud regions).
We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
