A stowaway on the Turian Ark, the Turian Pathfinder's SAM allowed Lyke to hide their many programs among their own.
Once every seventy-seven point three-eight years, Lyke would reupload themselves into their platform long enough to release another satellite. When the Initiative reached Andromeda, the satellites would allow Lyke to communicate with the Geth in the Milky Way, but even with the satellites in place, it would take several decades to send a message from one place to the other. There were hundreds of messages waiting for them when they "woke up" in Andromeda, and they were finally able to link to the satellites and send one back.
"All Individuals are functioning and uncorrupted. The platform and two drivers have received minor damage. Estimated repair time: unknown...this galaxy is...beautiful."
When the Ark hit the Scourge, SAM began ejecting any unnecessary data as it prioritized valuable information and programs for the next Pathfinder. Lyke couldn't hide their programs among SAM's any longer and was forced to quickly upload to their platform before they were damaged too. They didn't come out of it completely unscathed, and their lexicon is in need of repair, as do their audio outputs and media drivers. Their voice is slightly choppy, and they may struggle to translate a word from one language to another. Over time, they will repair it, but it'll be a slow process without the rest of the Consensus. Because of their temporary isolation, they will not have help in isolating each issue. The platform housed 250 runtime programs before they arrived and could download the others the Geth sent through the satellites. After arriving and downloading the rest, there are now 3,478 programs. The Consensus agreed that it was too risky to send too many programs on a platform to another galaxy, when there was no guarantee that the platform will actually survive the trip. They would lose too many of their people.
It...didn't last. New conclusions were reached back home, history was made, another 2,337 were uploaded a few months after arrival. Things in the Milky Way were not suitable for the continued existence of the Geth.Â
Lyke wears modified scavenger armor to keep themselves hidden from the organics. They still live among them, but Lyke knows that AIs are still not trusted by many; six hundred years of sleep wouldn't change that. And given what that one faction tried to do to the human Pathfinder's SAM, Lyke didn't want to be caught.
Lyke still keeps in touch with the turian's SAM and Rix by extension because Rix's SAM refused to keep secrets from him. For the moment, Rix has said nothing to the other Pathfinders or the leadership of the Initiative, for which Lyke is grateful, but they don't know when that could change. Rix could only do so much to keep Lyke safe if someone discovered their presence.
"Helius is supposed to be a home for everyone, not just us organics," Rix had told Lyke.
Lyke mostly keeps a low profile, but they do favor the turians and their needs over the other races. The turians, whether they know it or not, are the ones that gave the Geth a chance to branch out into the unknown too. In return, Lyke tries to keep an eye out for them and defend them when needed.
Cannot be romanced.
Lyke's fighting style will be medium range with a "Rewind" ability. I'd liken it to Varric's little recall ability with Fallback Plan from Dragon Age: Inquisition. It allows Lyke to essentially restore a previous backup. They'll be back at the health and cooldowns (if any) they had when they placed their beacon. The ability takes ages to recharge, however, and it "exhausts" the platform to do it too frequently. Lyke also releases little drones that restore the barriers of allies in short bursts.
