Cecil loves to tell stories and adores watching the grandkids and great-grandkids, entertaining them with puppets. Sock puppets, marionettes, shadow puppets...all are fair game when it's storytime. He favors historical tales for the sake of teaching, but he has a few fantastical ones to share.
While he still has a few more stories up his sleeves to tell, he wants to gather more. He still has another half-century to live, and he'll have great-great-grandkids soon enough. He'll start a campaign by telling his family his plans, and then venturing off into whichever plane the campaign will take place in. Upon meeting the party, however it happens, he'll join them so he'll have stories of personal adventures to tell his descendants when he gets back. And if not stories of his own adventures, then those of his companions or the people he meets along the way.
He's getting older, however, so he knows he could be limited in fights and not as agile as he used to be, but he wants to push forward anyway. As a bard, he'll provide support and distractions more than try to deal damage. He knows he'll be of more use to the party if he fights from a distance and only draws his wick-rod when he has to.
Besides, what's more distracting (or hilarious) in the middle of a fight than some small, old mothman with sock puppets regaling you with the long-winded stories that only the elderly have to share?
He's a fairly warm and gentle soul, playful. He rarely meets a stranger, and he will likely wind up the dad-friend in a party. Optimistic and still able to see the world with the wonder usually seen in the young, Cecil will be encouraging and try to see the best in people when he can. He's always got a pat on the back and a few kind words ready for all he crosses paths with.
However, woe be to his enemies. He does not take it easy on them, and he shows them the same "kindness" they show him. He will use puppet strings to take control and make them attack their comrades, and he will do it while laughing the entire time. He's kind and gentle until he isn't.
