Cecil Albright is a human Force Mage from Tevinter and a minstrel for hire.
He's still married to Julie and has two children. He's only in his 40s in this verse.
Inquisition:
He hears about the Inquisition and decides to lend a hand. As a minstrel and mage, he knows he can bring a little light and life to the soldiers in the evenings and help the researchers study the Fade during the day.
He's not a formidable fighter, but he can survive long enough to make an escape if necessary. He's having to learn how to fight now that he's occasionally out in the field studying the rifts. Demons are everywhere these days, and he can't afford not to fight back if they show up by a rift.
Cecil still loves to use puppets to entertain and tell stories to kids, along with using them to terrorize enemies.
Veilguard:
After his time in the Inquisition, he returns home to his family and eventually allies with the Shadow Dragons as an informant. He hears many secrets while on stage in a tavern or restaurant, and he's more than willing to share them with the organization.
He does not join the Veilguard as a member, but he does pass on information to them and fights with them against the Venatori when the team is in Minrathous.
