Welcome to the Boston University Magic Workshop. We are a specialized senior design track where mechanical engineering students collaborate directly with professional Boston magicians.

Instead of traditional industrial prompts, our student teams are handed creative, seemingly impossible requests from performing artists. Acting as our clients, these magicians provide real-world performance constraints, pushing our teams to innovate at the intersection of statics, kinematics, materials science, mechatronics, and precision fabrication.
