There are four sections pupils will need to complete in order to achieve their full award.

We offer the full training for the expedition section in school. The other sections will need to be completed in pupils own time although staff do provide opportunity a guidance on where they can be completed in the school community.

With assistance from our staff, participants select and set objectives in each of the following areas:

  • Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community.
  • Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.
  • New Skill: developing practical and social skills and personal interests.
  • Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey. This will be completed in school.

Each section must be done for a minimum period of time depending on the level they are working towards.

It must be monitored and then assessed by someone with knowledge of that particular activity to achieve an Award (not related to the participant).

Each progressive level demands more time and commitment from participants. This is all tracked and recorded on the online platform students are enrolled on called e-dofe.

The following documents will support a better understanding of the sections, timings and some ideas of what qualifies for each section.

I have also included the blank proforma that pupils can use to track their weekly activities for each section and then use as evidence on their E-DofE.
