The Edtech 50 Schools awards - Fifty schools were highlighted as pioneering the use of education technology to make the greatest difference to pupils, staff and parents from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
These ‘Edtech Oscars’, supported by Intel, were chosen by an independent judging panel made up of educators and Edtech experts.
Witton Park Academy, was named as part of the prestigious Edtech 50 awards and features in a national publication that shines a light on imaginative uses of technology to support teaching and learning across the UK. The Edtech 50 report includes details of the schools’ work and has contributions from Ministers of Education from Wales, Scotland and England.
The following year I was invited to become a judge for the 2020 top 50 schools in the UK.
One of 36 successful applicants from around the world to take a problem we faced in education to the Google Innovator Programme. We learned new skills, developed concepts and possible solutions to the problems. We learnt failure opened new doors for better concepts and ideas. We became a life-long support group for each other and for our communities.
