Cohort 2023 Onboarding Session - August 12th, 2023
In June 2023, I embarked on a journey that would change the course of my entrepreneurial endeavours. It all began with the discovery of an organization dedicated to empowering Black tech founders, Nobellum. Their program provides invaluable opportunities to help founders kickstart their tech businesses.
Nobellum's mandate is clear: to have 100 Black founders in tech by 2025. The criterion is your business model must have STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). Intrigued by this initiative, I pondered how I could align my aspirations with Nobellum's mission. That's when the idea struck me - to create an app that would streamline the entrepreneurial journey for Black women, ultimately increasing their chances of success.
My journey with Nobellum began with attending their "Coaching and Application Preparation" session on June 14. This was followed by an enlightening experience of their "Art of Pitching" session on June 21. Feeling inspired and equipped, I took the leap and applied for Nobellum's Innovator Program on July 23. Then came the moment of truth. On August 3, I nervously atteneded my interview session, convinced that I hadn't performed well - as I recorded this moment on my IG LIVE. However, when that email arrived, announcing my acceptance into the Nobellum cohort 2023, my world changed. I realized I was in for a transformative experience.
Since becoming a part of the Nobellum cohort, I've been hard at work, figuring out how to infuse technology into my business model. The result? An innovative app (Pitch Deck) designed to empower Black women entrepreneurs, offering a personalized roadmap, client acquisition strategies, real-time social media metrics, and a thriving community. Additionally, I am collaborating with other entrepreneurship and innovation organizations, offering them subscriptions to the app. Lastly, the app provides a platform for investors to come on board and support these budding ventures.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Nobellum for this life-changing opportunity. A special shout-out to Melisa Ellis, the co-founder and CEO, for her unwavering commitment to the goal of having 100 Black founders in tech by 2025. I wholeheartedly stand by and support this inspiring mission.
