Startup Of Softball

As of January 18, the 2019 softball season for the lady buffs has started. This past week they started having after school practices to prepare for their season.

As one of the seniors from the lady buffs team, Avery Tigert mentions, “I hope that our team is stronger and goes further in the playoffs this year. I hope to better myself this season and my team, helping us to go further into the playoffs and to grow as a team.”

Last year the lady buffs didn’t graduate any seniors which now leaves them with the same varsity including a few new freshman who hope to make this team stronger and better. The chemistry between these girls is what makes the season so fun and enjoyable for each individual player.

One of the seniors Kaylee Morgan said “ I’m really glad that we didn’t have to graduate anyone last year because that just allows for us to grow and improve on how we did last year as a team. Most teams are finding their chemistry and learning how to play for each other right now but we have already gone through that which I feel like now gives us a slight advantage.”

After last years season of making it into the playoffs the Lady Buffs are hoping to go deeper into the playoffs once again this year. The lady buffs don't have much time to prepare for their season, because of their first game being on February the 14th in the Borden County tournament. With this being the case it just makes each of these players want to work harder at getting better during each practice but also on their own.

With being a sophomore on varsity this year and a freshman last year I hope to go further each year that i am apart of this organization and team. I believe that this year we can make it further into the playoffs as long as we continue to play as a team and practice as a team who all supports each other.

During the season these girls become so much closer and grow as individuals. Softball is not only a game to these girls, but it is also a lifestyle and a fun hobby for them to pursue. Throughout the season they tend to learn more about each other, what challenges one another and what is easy for one another. By getting the chance to learn each other and grow close to each other, softball helps for these girls to have a great support system and great friends to lean upon. Not only is softball a great sport but it also creates great opportunities for these girls! Good luck to our Lady Buffs and their season ahead of them.

Easter Traditions

Many families celebrate the nation holiday of Easter. Easter is a holiday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. There are many different ways that people celebrate this holiday. Many let their kids open an easter basket from the Easter Bunny. Then after that many families go to church and have a Sunrise Service for families to go to and celebrate their love for Jesus as a family. After the church service some families go back home and have a family lunch. Later on in the day they let their kids color eggs and make cute little arts and crafts. After the eggs dry and all the kids go off and do their own thing that parents usually go out and hide the eggs out in the yard for their kids to go and find them. These traditions make the celebration Jesus fun for all kids but it is still important that your family knows the true importance behind this holiday!
