Getting started
- Finish the short onboarding, then sign in with Apple, Google or email, or tap "Skip for now" to use BudgetFox as a guest.
- Add your bank accounts, cash wallets and cards from Accounts & wallets (Profile tab) so each transaction posts to the right balance.
- Tap the + tab to record income or an expense. Pick a category and account, then save.
Frequently asked questions
How do I set a budget?
Tap Budgets on the Home screen, choose a category and period, enter a limit and save. Home shows how much of each budget you have used.
Can I split one purchase across categories?
Yes. When adding an expense, turn on "Split across categories" and assign an amount to each part. The parts must add up to the total.
What are pending transactions?
Turn on "Pending" for charges that have not cleared. They do not change the account balance until you mark them as posted.
How do recurring charges and merchant rules work?
Profile > Recurring charges stores bills that repeat, such as rent or subscriptions. Profile > Merchant rules automatically assigns a category to a payee you choose.
How do I export my data?
Profile > Export all transactions (CSV) creates a spreadsheet file you can save or share.
What does BudgetFox Pro include?
Pro unlocks Reports (charts and spending summaries) and the other premium features shown on the subscription screen. Plans are monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through your Apple Account.
How do I restore a purchase?
Profile > Subscription > Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Profile > Subscription > Manage Subscription, or iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > BudgetFox. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
I can't sign in with email
Check the email address and password, or use "Forgot password" on the login screen to reset it. Signing in with Apple or Google also works.
How do I delete my account and data?
Profile > Account settings > Delete Account removes your account and synced data. Guest data stays only on your iPhone and is removed when you delete the app. You can also email us and we will delete it for you.
