In Man Alive, the story follows Thomas McBee as he grapples with questions of manhood while coming of age as a transgender man. When his abusive father dies and a mugging nearly turns fatal, Thomas is forced to confront both his past and the meaning of masculinity itself. As he unravels memories of trauma and seeks to reconcile with his own body, he begins a journey of self-discovery that challenges cultural expectations of gender. Through confronting violence, loss, and identity, Thomas searches for a way to live authentically—and to define manhood on his own terms.
