Dracula (1897) is a gothic horror novel that follows the efforts of a group of people trying to stop Count Dracula, a centuries-old vampire, from spreading his undead curse to England. The story begins with Jonathan Harker, a solicitor who travels to Dracula’s castle in Transylvania & slowly realizes he is a prisoner of a supernatural being.
As Dracula moves to England, strange events occur—most notably involving Lucy Westenra, a young woman who mysteriously falls ill. With the help of Professor Van Helsing, the group, including Jonathan’s fiancée Mina, bands together to confront Dracula and end his reign of terror.
Told through diary entries, letters, and newspaper clippings, Dracula is a suspenseful blend of folklore, fear, and friendship.
