The Walking Dead, created by Robert Kirkman is a long-running survival horror series. The story follows Rick Grimes, a small-town sheriff who wakes up from a coma to discover the world overrun by the undead. As he searches for his family, Rick joins and eventually leads a group of survivors through a post-apocalyptic America. While zombies known as “walkers” are a constant threat, the true danger often comes from other humans — rival survivor groups, warlords, and communities struggling to rebuild civilization.
With this series spanning over 193 issues in total, the series explores themes of morality, leadership, trust, grief, and what it means to remain human in a collapsing world. It’s less about “zombie battles” and more about human drama in the face of constant danger.
