Isle of Dogs is an original film written and directed by Wes Anderson. It draws inspiration from Japanese cinema, particularly Akira Kurosawa. The story is set in a futuristic Japan, an outbreak of canine flu leads the authoritarian government to exile all dogs to Trash Island. When young Atari’s beloved dog Spots is banished, he sets out on a journey to find him. With the help of a group of stray dogs, Atari confronts corruption, loyalty, and the bond between humans and their pets.
