Set in 19th-century Dublin, the story follows Albert Nobbs, a quiet, hardworking butler who has spent decades living in disguise as a man in order to survive in a society with few opportunities for women. Albert’s world is built on routine, caution, and secrecy—until an unexpected encounter with a visiting painter threatens to unravel the carefully constructed life Albert has maintained.

By navigating love, identity, and the rigid social rules of the time proves far more complicated than Albert imagined. This film is adapted from George Moore’s novella “The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs" directed by Rodrigo García. Albert Nobbs explores themes of survival, gender, loneliness, and the deep human yearning for dignity and connection.
