Nacho Libre follows Ignacio, a kind but awkward monastery cook in Mexico who dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. Secretly taking on the masked persona “Nacho,” he enters the world of lucha libre to earn money for the orphanage he helps run. As he trains and competes in the ring, Ignacio struggles to balance his faith, his ambitions, and his growing feelings for a fellow church worker.
