Heathers is a dark teen comedy set in a suburban Ohio high school, following Veronica Sawyer, a smart but disillusioned girl who falls in with the most popular clique—the three ruthless Heathers. When she begins dating the brooding new student J.D., their relationship takes a deadly turn as pranks against the bullies escalate into murder. With its sharp satire, biting humor, and unflinching look at teenage cruelty, the film explores popularity, power, and the dangerous allure of rebellion. This 1980s cult-classic film was also later adapted into the stage musical Heathers: The Musical in 2010—which is worthy to check out as well.
