Ransburg Scout Reservation
July 8-14, 2018
Bloomington, IN
We had to be at the church at 5 o'clock in the morning to get to camp on time. It was a 6 hour drive to Ransburg. We then went to take the swim test which most people passed. After picking our tents and settling in we went to dinner. That night we did not do much other than play some cards.
On Monday we went to our merit badges for the first time. After dinner went to a camp wide campfire. On Tuesday we had the first rounds of the speed tournament. The foundations of hammock city was created. On Wednesday all of the other hammocks went up to officially create hammock city. Hammock city was a little clearing in the trees next to our campsite with about 10 hammocks set up.
Thursday night the dining hall was not open so we had to cook our own food. We had hot dogs and brats. That night the first people slept out in their hammocks. On Friday we finished working on our merit badges. Later that night we had a closing campfire to end our week at Ransburg. Saturday we got up early to get ready to leave, and after a six hour drive we were back home.
