BOOK TITLE

From Genes to Algorithms:

Navigating the Biotechnology Data Revolution

Book Series: Advances in Data Science Driven Technologies

The aim of writing this book is to fulfill the crucial requirement for a comprehensive resource that connects genomics, biotechnology, and data science. The discipline of biotechnology has experienced a revolutionary transformation due to the introduction of high-throughput technologies, which generate large quantities of intricate biological data. Given the increasing amount and intricacy of biological data, there is a pressing demand for a comprehensive manual that not only clarifies the complexities of genomics but also equips researchers, students, and professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the data-driven environment.

This book endeavours to transcend its textbook status by serving as a guide, a reference, and a catalyst for creativity in the dynamic intersection of biotechnology and data science. It has the potential to become an essential tool for individuals managing the dynamic and intricate process of transitioning from genetic information to computational algorithms in the biotechnology data revolution.

There is No Processing/ Publication Fees.

Some of the important guidelines are:

Ø  Maximum 04 authors will be allowed to contribute for a single chapter and it will be preferred that co-author(s) of one of the selected chapters should not be the co-author(s) of other selected chapter(s).

Ø Chapter Title should be among from the offered Table of Contents.

Ø  Article of 15-20 pages should be submitted for a single chapter.

Ø  Original articles with significant contributions from the Author(s) will be the major consideration for shortlisting the received chapters.

Ø  All Figures must be in high-quality resolution (not less than 300 dpi). Kindly don't use any copyright images or else avail the permission from the concerned publisher or copyright holder.

Ø  References should be put in IEEE style and all mentioned references must be cited within the chapter.

Ø  The chapters must be embedded with all the figures/ illustrations/ tables/ chemical structures etc. at their appropriate places.

Ø  Each chapter should contain approximately 20 indexing keywords, organized in alphabetical order.

Ø  Each chapter must have a chapter abstract. It should not exceed 250 words and should condense the essential features of the chapter. A minimum of 4 to 6 keywords should be included in the abstract of each book chapter.

Ø  Please make sure that any/ all conflicts of interest and acknowledgements are mentioned in the chapter.

Ø  Kindly provide the information for a minimum of two potential reviewers, including their full names, professional designations, affiliations, email addresses, ORCIDs, and contact numbers. Reviewers are expected to possess a Scopus h-index exceeding 4.

Ø  Author Checklist, IEEE Reference Style and Sample File is available at http://tinyurl.com/bs-biotech or https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CO161PL0dDkwxfD6aiVsu1kXLAYX6ur2?usp=sharing.

Ø  Received articles will be peer-reviewed. Chapter selection will be provisional from the editorial team. Bentham Science Publisher will finalize the selection/ rejection of the articles at the last stage of acceptance.

Ø  We are collaborating with an international publisher, it is mandatory that emphasis should be given for the correct use of English in the chapters. Please ensure that the submitted book chapter is free from any grammatical/typographical/semantic errors. Please put your article through some online grammar checker tool, eg. ginger, check grammar, etc.

Ø  Highest level of quality work is expected for the publication in this proposed book. The Panel of reviewers can REJECT the chapter at any interval, if the expected quality work is not attained.

Ø  Formatting of the chapters should not be vague and only the suggested guidelines must be followed to bring uniformity throughout the book.

Ø  A Plagiarism check is mandatory for the chapters including references and it must be kept at a minimal level.

Ø Figures should NOT be copied from different websites. If they are copied, please add a reference or re-draw the diagrams.

Ø If you are using figures and tables for the purpose of simplifying the text, then keep them in. If you are using them to just complement the text, or when the text already gives enough information, then no, the figures and tables are not considered essential or necessary to your book and should be removed. A good rule of thumb is that if the results, information, or description of what the figure or table is showing can be clearly written in two sentences, then the figure or table is not essential or necessary to the book.

Ø The usage of artificial intelligence programs such as OpenAI (ChatGPT), Gretel, and similar platforms must be avoided to write any part of the proposed book chapters. If any instances of improper usage are discovered throughout the publishing process, the article will be rejected immediately.
