Bryant Mosaic

Thanks for your support!

In April 2017, students and staff at Bryant Alternative High School partnered with local mosaic artist, Ali Mirsky, to create a large-scale, vibrant mosaic on one of the concrete retaining walls outside the school.

Students used colored glass and handmade ceramic pieces to create the 32’x12’ mosaic.

The project was spearheaded by art teacher Rachel Albert and the design was inspired by conversations that Rachel and Ali had with students involving the different paths that students take and how detours and different directions can lead to new opportunities. The colorful, abstract design consists of shapes and lines featuring a series of circles as focal points, destinations and stopping points. The diagonal, zigzag, straight and interrupted lines represent paths in life.

To raise money for the project, the school collected donations from teachers, staff members, students, and members of the community. Those who donated $100 or more have a personalized tile in their honor incorporated into the design.

We would love to do more mosaic in the future! Please donate to www.gofundme.com/BryantMural to help us continue this work.
