The Uninstall Tool is useful if you want to uninstall the driver which you installed using the Brother CD, Full Driver & Software Package, Add Printer Wizard or Found New Hardware Wizard.

You can also completely remove drivers that failed to install.

However, in my case, I actually changed the printer connection type so I ended up uninstalling ControlCenter and re-installed it from the full driver pack (available here). This might be a simpler solution if editing windows registry goes wrong.

I had this issue in Windows 10. I had to find the uninstaller file for the Brother suite. You can use many different free utilities to get the registry value that is a command that uninstalls the software. This is how mine worked. My registry key for my add/remove (programs and features) menu command was:

I had to right click on the Setup.exe file and go to compatibility tab and set windows 8 compatibility mode, this will differ depending on your printer/OS combination. I had to run command prompt as administrator, then run the above command. This allowed the installer to remove it all, it had the brother printer name #2 #3 #4 #5 all checked for removal! After rebooting I was totally clean from all brother (I have a MFC-J435W). After this I installed my drivers that I downloaded from the support site. I strongly suggest setting win 8 compatibility mode on the setup file for that! Couldn't print certain things without the website driver.

Finally figured this out after a long time. It is so easy its stupid. Open up the brothers utilities app then hit tools. On tools it will have an uninstall button. Make sure if the top left corner drop down the correct printer/scanner you want to remove is selected. Then just hit uninstall.

My sister loaned me a brother printer and I had to install a bunch of programs just to use it. The brother software will not uninstall. It doesn't show up in the control panel apps list. I found an uninstall.exe and ran it but it did nothing. Brother CS said use their "uninstall tool" you have to download from their website, which also did nothing except delete it from my device list. How do I remove all of this crap from my PC?

I'm having troubles after I decided to uninstall and reinstall the Brother's "full drivers and software" package, which *should* install, among the others, Brother Utilities, iPrint&Scan and ControlCenter4. I decided to commit this kind of suicide after ControlCenter4 was showing a blank screen, seemingly broken installation (for some reason).

After calling Brother and letting me use (very same words) "several times" the driver uninstall tool, I tried reinstalling the software, but it kept installing iPrint&Scan only. The other solution they gave me is to try installing the software with another clean user (WHAT????).

I thus messed up with the install package's directory and found the "Msi" folder, containing the installers for both Brother Utilities and ControlCenter4. I then manually installed them, and (obviously) Brother Utilities didn't want to start (something like error 2000). I thus run the installer again, and after some runs the software (at least) started. No ControlCenter4 link though. I fought that I installed the utilities before the controlcenter4 software, so I uninstalled everything up again and installed CC4 BEFORE and the utilities after. Yay, it worked... mostly.

I even attempted to run the ControlCenter4 updater tool, but it's clear here that this crappy software expects some kind of (registry???) configuration to read the models and thus enable the correct options (you see the support tab only in the screenshot).

Unplug the USB cable from the printer to the PC and check to make sure there are no documents stuck in the printer queue. After unzipping the file, download and run the 541_782_GT3_GTX_GTXpro_Uninstall_Tool and double click on the BrRemPnP.exe (the only icon in color) executable file to run the tool.
