Britt's Classroom Core Values: This is how we will respond to one another in class

Love- You can choose to show brotherly/sisterly love or compassion to those around you. You don't have to like someone to choose to wish the best for them.

Joy- Happiness is a result of,  & influenced by, what is going on around you. You do not control it. Joy is a choice that is different from happiness. It is an attitude that you can have, even when things are tough, that will influence your actions.

Peace- You can choose to have peace in the midst of chaos. You can choose to make peace with someone who has done wrong to you.

Patience- You can choose to deal calmly and nicely with people and circumstances around you that make things difficult or chaotic

Kindness- You can choose to be considerate and friendly to people, even those you do not respect or who you feel do not respect you. You can be the better person in hard situations involving others.

Goodness- Choose to be good or do the right thing, even when it is hard or you are the only one doing what is right.

Faithfulness- Be loyal to your God, family, friends, beliefs, school, country, and classmates. People will fail you. That is part of life. Your choice to be loyal to them when they fail you helps make them, and you, better people.

Gentleness- This does NOT mean to be weak. It takes great strength to choose to show gentleness to those who hurt who or to walk away from an unnecessary confrontation or fight, especially one you know you can dominate.

Self-Control- Choosing to be in control of your own behavior instead of letting circumstances, or others, dictate your behavior is hard and requires true strength of body, mind, and spirit.

Notice that all of these involve making a choice. You ALWAYS have a choice in any circumstance. Life may have dealt you the worst hand ever and you may not have any choice in that hand. However, you have a choice in how you RESPOND to it. Your choices, good, bad, or otherwise ALWAYS have some type of consequences and they ALWAYS affect those around you. Choose wisely...every day!!
