I am lucky to have had the chance to teach both during my PhD at UC Berkeley and while completing my BA/MA at the University of Oklahoma. I have taught in different contexts, working with political science discussion sections of about twenty students at UC Berkeley as well as in smaller settings - small groups or one-on-one - with Arabic students at the University of Oklahoma.
I am the recipient of a 2023 Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award from UC Berkeley. This award is awarded to fewer than 10% of GSIs at Berkeley each year. In 2024, I received a Teaching Effectiveness Award for GSIs, which only fourteen GSIs receive every year across all departments at UC Berkeley, for my work leading discussion sections for War in the Middle East. The essay I wrote for the Teaching Effectiveness Award, which reflects my approach to teaching, can be found here. My teaching evaluations for War in the Middle East can be found here, here, here, and here.
