1959-60 Bristol Panthers
The Panthers of 1960 won Bristol's first TIA Championship and finished 12th in the Ohio AP Poll.
The team finished the season 17-6 (7-1 in TIA), including starting the season 10-0, which at the time, was a school record.
This was the 4th consecutive season winning 17 or more games under Coach James Nace. The Panthers would win the league again in '62 and '64 all under the direction of Coach Nace.
The Panthers defeated Fowler and Western Reserve to win the Bristol Holiday Tournament. At the start of the Holiday Tournament both Bristol and Fowler were undefeated. The 1960 team won the TIA Quarter game against Hartford & the Semi Final game against Bloomfield before losing to Vienna 53-51.
Senior Maynard Hutson led the Panthers in scoring at 16.9 ppg while earning 1st Team TIA League II honors. Senior Joe Balint also was selected 1st Team TIA League II. Sophomore Chuck Robinson was second in scoring averaging 11.9 ppg. Jim Hartman led the team in free throw % at a 66% clip.
