I discovered white nights recently and I totally agree with you. They are amazing quality and great value. I get the full pans. Having worked with Sennelier and Schminke before, I think I will buy white nights from now on.

It is usually on a day you are late in port as they need ideally to not be moving or as is said "we get lettuce leaves flying into the pool" Whilst generally it is in the second half of the cruise, a decision is taken each cruise based on the weather forecast ahead. So for example recently on Quest they did it on Day 3 in Edinburgh as the weather later in the cruise was not going to be good. They are really not overbooked. Its$$$ unless you are in a suite. Just go as soon as you are on the ship. They will at that time tell you when the white night celebration is.

Amazing white night on the Azamara Journey in the Bay of Kotor the 14th of August. Great food and lovely atmosphere ? This cruise was the intensive Italy itinerary, ending in Ravenna the 17th of August.

On these 2 special nights are nice shorts and sandals allowed for men? What do people usually wear on the white themed nights? I wasn't aware of that one until I got my package from Paul Gauguin the other day which is very nice by the way. I love the zipper pouch with the manta ray.

Also...I didn't know about White Nights either! Thanks...now I know to pack something white, which I probably wouldn't have packed. ? I do have a great Polynesian dress for Polynesian night - I had one made for me in the Market in Papeete many years ago, before my first PG cruise. I haven't had too many opportunities to wear it, so I'm happy to be coming back on the PG so I can get some use out of it!

Just got off the ship a few days ago. We did not know about white night or Polynesian night ahead of time and did not pack accordingly. On white night it seemed maybe half the passengers had gotten the memo and were wearing white. On Polynesian night more people were dressed in Hawaiian shirts etc but we did not feel out of place without them.

Local residents take full advantage of the long nights, sitting out in cafs and restaurants until late. Many restaurants and bars stay open 24 hours. Many of the tourist attractions stay open late as well.

The amphitheater opens for parking one hour before the program start time. Full moon nights are very popular; expect a high volume of traffic.
