The Brightwaters Art Council is hosting our 3rd annual art show at the Cabin in Wohseepee park for young artists in grades K-8! 

• Please use the registration form to sign up to exhibit in the art show. This event is only for kids in grades K-8. If you are registering multiple children from one house hold, you must submit a new form for each child.

• We are accepting up to 2 works per person, depending on the amount of applications to this art show. All artwork must be able to be displayed on a table top via table top easels due to the constraints of our space. 

• Artwork can be framed, or matted but it is not required. 

• 2D works should be 18x24 inches or smaller, 3D works should not exceed 18 inches in any direction (artist is responsible for any display materials needed for 3D work such).

• Artist sketchbooks can be displayed as well.

• All artwork should be properly labeled on the back of the work with the Name, Grade, Title of the art work, medium (material) of the work. We will send all participants a label to use. 

• Artist's must have parent  or guardian attend the reception with them. All family and friends are invited to the reception.

• There is no theme for this art show, we are just looking to showcase your best work, your creativity & style!

•  All artwork must be suitable and appropriate for all ages. We reserve the right to not display any art that someone may find offensive, vulgar or inappropriate. Please be mindful of all community members when selecting your art for the show. 

• All work must be taken home immediately following the artist reception.

Reception: Sunday, January 26th 4-5pm at Wohseepee Cabin, open to all who would like to attend! Certificates will be given out at 4:30pm to all participants and a group photo will be taken! 

Artwork Pick up: immediately following reception, all work must be taken home. We cannot hold work. Artwork must stay on display until the reception is over at 5pm. 

The Brightwaters Art Council is hosting a monthly Critique Club/Artist Meet up on May 14th!

The Brightwaters Art Council is hosting a coloring contest for kids at the Spring Thing Block Party @ Brightwaters Village Square on Sunday May 19! 

Stop by our table for coloring contest pages! Winners in the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories will receive a prize, winners will be announced the week after the event.

We also have artist vendors joining us- check out the work by Brittany Borneman & Amanda Lastella that will be for sale!

On Thursday, March 21st from 6-8pm we are hosting a “Paint and Sip” at The Brightwaters Inn! 

They are kindly offering us extended happy hour pricing, and we’ll be painting your favorite drink! 

Event is $20 upon entry (21+, drink not included). 

This event is FULL. We will have a waitlist - email us your name and a cell # we will notify you if a spot opens up! 

If you need to cancel we will need at least 24 hour notification so we can fill your spot!

Thank you to those who attended our Cookie Inspired Paint Night on Feb 27th! Artwork from this event will be on display at Cookie Kneads Bakery (184 W Main St, Bay Shore, NY 11706) beginning March 8! 

We are hosting a reception for the artists on Tuesday, March 12th from 6-7pm at the bakery and all are welcomed to attend! Come and check out the artwork and the bakery’s offerings and meet the owner! Light refreshments will be served!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming February Event! 

(as of Feb 9) We have ONE SPOT LEFT for a special paint night on Tuesday February 27th, from 6-8pm at the Wohseepee Park Cabin in Brightwaters. 

Attendees will be selecting a cookie that has been creatively decorated by Cookie Kneads Bakery of Bay Shore and will create a painting inspired by their cookie choice! (https://www.cookiekneads.com/)

Paintings from this event will be displayed at Cookie Kneads Bakery for the month of March and we’ll be celebrating our artists at a reception at Cookie Kneads on Tuesday, March 12th!

This event is open to artists ages 18+ and there is a $20 fee (cash only) at the door. This fee covers all supplies, cookie, and exhibition of your art!

If you’re looking for a way to jumpstart your creativity and participate in an art show, while supporting a local business- join us for this event!!

We are hosting a panel discussion with 4 amazing local artists on Tuesday, January 30th from 6:30-7:15pm! Artists Holly Hunt (photography), Hillary Broder (watercolor, felting), Syd Glasser (painting, printmaking), and Lisa Di Stefano (ceramics) will be discussing the business side of art, how to manage a career in art, balancing art & life, and how to get started selling/pricing work! They will be taking questions from attendees throughout the discussion. If you have an interest in art or how to jump start your creative endeavors and get yourself out there, this is a great way to kick off the year!

Join us for a step-by-step acrylic paint class! This is a small group setting, limted to the first 10 people who sign up. Everyone will receive a canvas, and materials will be provided. Participants may bring a snack to share if they choose. Open to teens and adults, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
