Where does it hide?
Inside the leaves,
Bagged and bleeding,
Into the pristine,
Into the comfort and the warmth.
In the stiff and stillness
Of midnight,
The world seeming
Just a bit less lonely.
In the reflection
Of the water,
Rippling and blinding with
The beggings of tomorrow.
In the vibrations
Of the day, in the silent
Of the night, and
In the orange of between.
Wherever you seek it
It shall be there -
That hopeful taste
Lingering like the dead.
