I have an issue with the scenario when ball hits in between two bricks. I have BoxCollider2D attached to all bricks and a CircleCollider2D attached to the ball. When the ball hits between 2 adjacent bricks, it bounces back in the same direction as if it hit the edge of the brick. There is no edge in between, but two adjacent bricks form a continuous surface. So, the ball should bounce off of the surface (in other direction) instead of bouncing back.

As I watched the ball bounce back and forth, I realized that the collision detection was late, like a ball going through a brick. That makes the ball can hit 2 bricks or 2 collider edges at the same time.

I noted that sniper balls is useful when it attempts to target that last few bricks especially shield bricks when you have no sword balls and your ass ball keeps bouncing around missing that one last shield brick

Demo ball vs pierce ball Which is better if you have to pick one ? One does much dmg but slow asf and bounces away while the other wipes out stacks of bricks in its path which typically cost less time to hit the next brick compared to demo. Thoughts ?

I've completed a small game project of the breakout game, but my main problem is that the ball seems to get stuck going side to side much more often than i would be okay with it happening. It's definitely a problem with the ball velocity and I've tried messing around with the numbers but I can't seem to make it stop getting stuck. Any ideas on how to fix it ,or even improve any of the code, would be greatly appreciated.
