Brian R. Donoghue is a Stage Manager and Theater Technician based in New York and Long Island.
Brian graduated in May 2022 from Adelphi University, magna cum laude, with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts: Design & Technology, with dual concentrations in Stage Management and Costume Design, along with a minor in Communications.
With about seven years of stage management experience, Brian has worked across various live entertainment genres, including theater, dance, and opera. Most recently, Brian served as the Production Stage Manager for Annapolis Opera's new production of Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel (Dir: Katherine M. Carter | Maestro: Craig Kier), was the Assistant Stage Manager for Manhattan School of Music's Graduate Opera Theater production of Gaetano Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore (Dir: Katherine M. Carter | Maestro: Michael Sakir), and was the Production Stage Manager for Vanguard Theater Company's 2025 Summer Intensive production of Urinetown (Dir: Maggie Aube).
Before discovering Stage Management, Brian was a performer from the age of six, developing a passion for performance and dance in his hometown of Floral Park. There, he joined various local theater groups, including Theater Box Theatricals, Cardboard Box Players Summer Camp, and St. Gregory's Theater Group, where he spent most of his teenage years sweating it out in a stuffy gym, suffering for his art. Additionally, before finishing high school and transitioning to college, Brian developed a passion for set and costume design, inspired by his late friend Mary Elise Millus and his admiration for Maria Björnson, the production designer of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. Both continue to inspire him as he grows and shapes himself into the kind of stage manager and artist he aspires to be.
