I am a 5th year PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics at Rice University, working with Christopher Leininger.
My current research interests lie in geometric group theory and low dimensional topology, with a particular interest in mapping class groups of surfaces, graphs, and 3-manifolds, as well as homeomorphism groups of second countable Stone spaces.
I've taken a particular interest in questions involving geometric rigidity. That is, given a nice space (e.g. a manifold or a graph), and a combinatorial structure naturally associated to it (e.g. the curve graph of a surface), is the automorphism group of this combinatorial structure isomorphic to the mapping class group of the associated space?
