Beer is one of the oldest and most widely consumed beverages. It's production is featured in humanity's earliest writings, the Code of Hammurabi includes laws and regulations and the Hymn to Ninkasi, a prayer to the Mesopotamian Goddess of Beer.

BTW, a bronze age microbrewery was discovered in Western Cyprus, one of the earliest ever found.
