Data Science is among the fastest growing areas in contemporary Mathematics. With its wide scope much of its growth is due to links and interactions with more theoretical research subjects, such as combinatorics, topology, geometry, algebra and discrete mathematics. This workshop will bring together researchers from combinatorial and algebraic topology and discrete geometry to explore directions of joint research. Its programme is devoted to establishing first steps towards a long-lasting and mutually beneficial academic cooperation between the Institute of Algebra, Geometry, Topology and their Applications at the University of Bremen and the School of Mathematics at Cardiff University.

We gratefully acknowledge funding for this workshop from the Bremen-Cardiff Collaboration Fund.
