The Dussias Brain Tracking Lab is currently looking for native English speakers with only minimal knowledge of a second language to participate in a language study. To be considered a native speaker, you must have learned English in the home from birth until early childhood. Short durations of a second language education (e.g., one semester or one year) are acceptable, but those who are proficient enough to hold a short conversation will not qualify.
Additionally, you must...
Be between the ages of 18-65
Have no history of neurological or language disorders
Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision
(i.e., glasses or contacts which are the correct prescription)
This is a simple study, all the tasks will be completed on a computer and you will either have to read or perform simple activities. In addition, you will complete a brief online questionnaire. A researcher will be with you, assisting and guiding you through all the tasks.
There will be one session of approximately one hour. In total, you will receive $15 per hour for your participation, plus $5 for completing the online questionnaire. Payment will be in cash.
This study will take place in Burrowes building, room 037. If you have trouble finding the room, you can reach out to the researcher that scheduled your session.
We will work with you to schedule a time that is convenient for you.
A researcher will contact you after you submit to confirm your eligibility and schedule a time.
If you end up not qualifying for any of our studies, you will still receive $5 for completing this survey.
