The Dussias Brain Tracking Lab is currently looking for native Spanish speakers who were not immersed in an English-speaking environment before adulthood. To be considered for this study, you must have learned Spanish at home from birth and grown up in a Spanish-speaking country.
Additionally, you must meet the following criteria:
Between the ages of 18-65
No history of neurological or language disorders
No astigmatism
Normal or corrected-to-normal vision
(i.e., glasses or contacts which are the correct prescription)
You will complete several tasks on a computer where you will have to listen to sentences and perform simple activities. For some tasks your eye movements will be tracked. In addition, you will complete a brief online questionnaire. A researcher will be with you, assisting and guiding you through all the tasks.
There will be one session of approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. In total, you will receive $15 per hour for your participation, plus $5 for completing the online questionnaire. Payment will be in Amazon gift cards.
This study will take place in the Burrowes building, room 037. If you have trouble finding the room, you can reach out to the researcher that scheduled your session.
We will work with you to schedule a time that is convenient for you.
A researcher will contact you after you submit to confirm your eligibility and schedule a time.
If you end up not qualifying for any of our studies, you will still receive $5 for completing this survey.
