We study how the brain and body work together to control balance and movement, and how these interactions change with aging and neurological conditions.
Our goal is to uncover the neural and biomechanical mechanisms underlying mobility and use this knowledge to develop more targeted rehabilitation strategies.
We combine neuroscience, biomechanics, and rehabilitation science to understand how the brain supports human movement.
We investigate how neural systems and brain connectivity contribute to balance, gait, and individual differences in mobility across aging and neurological conditions.
We examine how the nervous system integrates sensory information and cognitive demands to maintain balance and adapt movement in complex environments.
We use noninvasive brain stimulation and other experimental approaches to test causal brain–behavior relationships and identify mechanisms that can be targeted for rehabilitation.
We are building the BRAIN Lab.
We are looking for motivated students, postdocs, and collaborators who are passionate about understanding the brain and improving movement.
