I am a Sport Scientist with both academic and applied experience in fatigue, sleep, and endurance performance. I hold degrees from the University of Leon, Spain (BSc and MSc in Sport Science and Physical Education), and the University of Kent, United Kingdom (MSc in Sport Science for Optimal Performance and PhD in Sport and Exercise Sciences). My PhD focused on sleep deprivation and ultra-endurance performance.
My postdoctoral work at the University of Kent and the University of Bologna, Italy, centred on cognitive and physical testing, exploring strategies to improve endurance performance and resistance to fatigue. I am currently working on a project at the Kent and Medway Medical School, investigating the relationship between circadian biomarkers, sleep, cognition, and mental health.
Alongside my academic work, I provide sport science support to a UCI Professional Cycling Team. I have worked with elite athletes across major endurance and ultra-endurance events (Giro d’Italia, UCI Road World Championships, Ironman World Championships, Marathon des Sables, Tor des Géants, and the World’s Toughest Row), as well as with professional teams in cycling, football (EFL League One), and motorsports (Rally Dakar). I have also delivered sport science consultancy for companies including ASICS and SCARPA.
