Purpose of using device permissions
Photo album permissions
Usage Description: Primarily used to support users uploading personal photos as profile pictures and sharing photos to their personal feeds, chat sessions, and other similar scenarios. For example, when you want to update to a more personalized profile picture or share a funny image in a chat with a friend, it will involve accessing the photo album.
Permission Scope and Acquisition Method: For operations that only require a single photo upload, such as setting an avatar or posting an animated image, we follow Google Play policies and use the system photo picker (such as the Android Photo Picker). This method does not require extensive access to the entire photo album; the app only obtains temporary access to a photo when you actively select it.
Data Processing: The photos we acquire will only be used for the functions you specify and will not be processed in any other way without your consent, such as background scanning for advertising recommendations. We will store (e.g., upload to our servers for display in your profile or feed), display, and transmit the photos according to your instructions. After you delete the relevant photo content, we will also delete the corresponding photo data stored on the server within a reasonable period in accordance with the data lifecycle guidelines.
Microphone permissions
Usage Description: Microphone permission is used to support features of the Bopit service such as voice and video chat, voice message recording, and interactive live streaming . When you are having a voice or video call with a friend, or want to send a voice message to quickly express your thoughts, the application will request microphone permission.
When to request microphone access: We will only request microphone access from you when you actively click to initiate a voice or video chat or start recording a voice message. We will not turn on the microphone in the background without your permission.
Data Processing: The recorded voice data will only be used to achieve the functions you initiate, such as sending it to chat partners or using voice and video functions, and will not be used for any other unauthorized purposes. Furthermore, we will take security measures such as encryption to protect the security of voice data during transmission and storage, preventing data leakage.
Clipboard permissions
Purpose: Obtaining clipboard permission is mainly to facilitate text pasting operations when using the Bopit service, such as pasting copied text content into chat input boxes, or pasting previously copied information when filling out forms.
Access permissions and timing: The clipboard will only be accessed when you actively paste. It will not continuously monitor the background or access the clipboard without your intervention. Furthermore, it will only read clipboard content relevant to the current operation and will not obtain any other irrelevant information.
Data Processing: The clipboard text read is used solely to complete your pasting operation and is not processed or stored in any other way. After the pasting operation is complete, the application does not retain the contents of the clipboard, ensuring your privacy and security.
Notification permissions
Purpose: Notification permissions are used to push important messages to you, such as new message notifications from friends, system notifications (e.g., application update notifications), updates on activities you follow , notifications when streamers you follow go live, notifications of live chat requests from other users, and notifications of live stream donations, ensuring you don't miss important information relevant to you. For example, you will receive a notification when a friend sends you a message, or when there is new progress in an online activity you are participating in.
Permission Acquisition and Management: When installing or using the Bopit service for the first time, you will be asked for notification permissions. You can choose to allow or deny them. If you allow them, you can also personalize the type and method of notifications (such as sound, vibration, pop-ups, etc.) at any time in the application settings or your phone's system settings. You can choose which types of notifications to receive and turn off notifications you do not want to receive.
Notification Content Handling: Push notifications will only contain information related to the Bobit service and will not send unauthorized advertisements or other irrelevant information. We will strictly protect the security of notification content to prevent malicious acquisition or tampering by third parties.
Bluetooth permissions
Purpose: Obtaining Bluetooth permission is primarily used to connect to specific Bluetooth devices (such as Bluetooth headsets) to enable data interaction with these devices. For example, if you want to use Bluetooth headsets to play our resources or conduct voice and video chats, you will need to use Bluetooth permission.
Permission Acquisition and Usage Scenarios: The application will only request Bluetooth permission from you when you actively initiate the operation of connecting to a specific Bluetooth device, or when the Bopit service detects that you have a clear need.
Data Processing: Data acquired via Bluetooth will only be used for purposes related to device functionality and will not be used for any other unrelated purposes. We will encrypt the data transmitted via Bluetooth to ensure data security during transmission and prevent data from being stolen or tampered with by third parties.
Location permissions
Purpose: Location permission is primarily used to enable location-based services. Additionally, to support Bluetooth headset calls, location permission is required on devices running Android 12 and earlier to discover Bluetooth devices. This data is only used for device connection and does not collect or upload geolocation information.
Permission Acquisition and Mode Selection: We will explicitly request location permission from you the first time you use a service that requires location functionality. The application will not continuously collect your location information unless you are using the relevant location-based service.
Data Processing: The location data obtained will only be used to provide the services explicitly communicated to you above, and will not be disclosed to third parties for advertising or other unauthorized purposes. The application will cease collecting and using your location information when you turn off location services or stop using related location-based services.
Camera permissions
Usage description: Camera permissions are used to support video chat, avatar shooting and other functions of the Bopit service, such as video transmission when viewers are chatting during live broadcasts , and taking and uploading pictures and videos in personal albums ;
When to request permission: We will only request your camera permission when you actively click to initiate a video chat, take a picture of your profile picture, start a live stream, or accept a live chat. We will not turn on your camera in the background without your permission.
Data Processing: The collected video data will only be used to implement the functions you initiated and will not be used for any other unauthorized purposes. We will take security measures such as encryption to protect the security of video data during transmission and storage, and prevent data leakage .
