Privacy Policy for Bootstrap Grid Overlay
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
Thank you for choosing the Bootstrap Grid Overlay Chrome Extension! We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding how our extension works.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Bootstrap Grid Overlay is designed to be fully functional on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, store externally, or share any personal data, browsing history, or analytical data. Everything runs locally inside your browser.
2. Required Permissions
Our extension requires certain permissions to function correctly. Here is exactly why we need them:
- "storage" permission: This is used exclusively to save your user preferences locally on your device. It stores settings such as the grid toggle state, fluid container settings, grid opacity, trial installation time, and your locally validated premium license key. This ensures you don't have to re-enter your preferences or license key every time you open a new tab.
- Host permissions ("<all_urls>" via content scripts): We need access to the web pages you visit solely to inject and display the visual Bootstrap grid overlay on top of the site's content when you enable it. We do not read, log, modify, or track the contents or data of the pages you visit.
3. Third-Party Services
We use Gumroad to process payments and issue license keys. When you purchase a premium license key, Gumroad securely handles your payment information and email address. Our extension does not process payments or collect your billing details; it simply validates the license key you manually enter.
4. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
5. Contact Us
For any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, or for premium support, refunds, and other inquiries, please refer to the contact email provided directly on our Chrome Web Store extension page or Gumroad purchase page.
