Book Reader
Book Reader
Effective date: 2026-02-09
This Privacy Policy explains how Book Reader (“App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our Android application that reads PDF and ebook files stored on your device.
We do not require account registration and do not ask you to provide personal information (such as name, email address, phone number) to use the App.
The App accesses only the files you choose to open (PDF and supported ebook formats) from your device storage in order to display them to you.
We do not upload, transmit, or store your documents on our servers; file processing happens locally on your device.
Option A (recommended if truly offline / no analytics):
We do not collect analytics, device identifiers, precise location, or usage logs.
Option B (if you use analytics/crash reporting):
We may collect limited technical information (e.g., device model, OS version, crash traces, and basic app events) to improve stability and performance; this data may be processed by service providers we use for analytics or crash reporting.
(Keep only Option A or Option B.)
We use the information described above only to:
Provide core reader functionality (open, render, and navigate documents on your device).
Improve app performance and fix crashes (only if you chose Option B above).
To function, the App may request permissions such as:
Storage / media access (to let you select and read PDF/ebook files).
If you deny a permission, some features (like browsing files) may not work, but you can still use any features that don’t require it.
Option A (no sharing):
We do not sell or share personal information with third parties.
Option B (if third‑party SDKs are used):
If you enable features that rely on third‑party services (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, ads), those providers may process limited technical data as described in this policy and under their own privacy terms.
(Keep only the option that matches your app.)
Because documents are processed locally on your device, we do not retain your PDFs/ebooks on our servers.
If we collect crash/analytics data (Option B), we retain it only as long as needed for debugging and improving the App.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information handled by the App; however, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can control permissions in your device settings, including storage/media access.
If the App includes analytics/ads (Option B), you may be able to limit ad personalization or tracking via Android or Google settings (availability depends on your device and configuration).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will update the “Effective date” above when changes are made.

If you tell me whether Book Reader uses (1) analytics/crash reporting (Firebase, Sentry, etc.), (2) ads, (3) cloud sync/backup, or (4) in‑app purchases, I’ll tailor the policy text so it matches your exact data practices.
