Vehicle Access to the School

Parents are reminded that before and after school students are to be dropped off and picked up outside the school site. This applies irrespective of the weather. The pedestrian covered walkway ensures students can walk from the entry gate to the school buildings even during wet weather.

Vehicle congestion poses not only a safety risk, but also impedes essential deliveries to the school. The entry driveaway is for staff use and delivery vans only before 9.30am and after 3pm.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Mr Morris

Attendance and School Absences

The Education Act (1990) requires parents to ensure that children of compulsory school age attend school on each day that the school is open for instruction. If children are absent from school, parents are required to provide the school with an acceptable explanation within seven days of the first absence. With the new electronic Roll Marking, students who are late to school should also provide a note to explain their late arrival to school as these are also recorded as partial unexplained absences. If a Student is required to leave school early they need to have a note from their Parent or Guardian indicating their reason and also a contact number. The note should be handed to their Roll Call Teacher at roll call. On leaving school, they then need to sign out at the front office.

Attendance Codes

          • "W" The student was absent for the whole day.
          • "P" The student was late or was absent for part of the day.
          • "A" The student's absences is unexplained or unjustified.
          • "S" The student's absence is due to sickness or a medical appointment.
          • "L" An explanantion for an absence has been received and accepted.
          • "B" The student was absence from school on official school business e.g. School excursion.
