History Excursion to the Sydney Jewish Museum

(Friday 7th December, 2018)

Late last year a combination of Year 9, 10 and 11 HSIE students travelled up to Darlinghurst in Sydney with Mr Creighton and Mrs Rizzuto to visit the Sydney Jewish Museum. This excursion was planned to complement the History and Modern History topics of ‘The Holocaust’ and ‘Power and Authority in the Modern World’. All students had a very engaging experience getting a tour around the museum, looking at primary artefacts and hearing stories from The Holocaust. In particular, students heard from a Holocaust survivor who was giving his first ever testimony at the museum. The emotion that was shown from the survivor recounting some of the horrific conditions he experienced will be remembered by Bomaderry High School students for a very long time. All students were very well behaved and it was a pleasure spending the day with them in the city.

Business Studies Excursion to Jamberoo Action Park

(Friday 14th December, 2018)

Late last year, Year 11 Business Studies students visited Jamberoo Action Park as part of their Marketing component. The excursion was planned to provide students with a first-hand experience, assessing the Action Park’s effectiveness at Marketing. All students were also provided with a seminar from the Marketing manager of Jamberoo Action Park discussing what strategies the Park utilises to encourage potential customers. After the seminar, students had fun spending time trying out all the water rides. All students were very well behaved and it was a pleasure spending the day with them racing down the water slides.
