Technology in the teacher training classroom can be used in ways that enhance learning and create connections. However, when the learners’ culture is not taken into account, that same technology can confuse, divide, and defeat. This workshop shows how learner variables/cultures influence the success of technology integration. Participants will leave with 1) 4-6 ideas on technology/platforms to use to flip a classroom while maintaining a communicative, humanistic environment; 2) understanding of learner variables that can influence their technology usage decisions; and 3) a needs assessment to choose appropriate technology for success in a blended/hybrid classroom.
