If you want a direct replacement for the driver-side taillight on your 2004–2008 Ford F-150, choose Boine Left Driver Side; if you need an upgraded high-mount third brake light with integrated cargo illumination for your 2014–2019 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado, choose SUPAREE LED 3rd. These two products serve fundamentally different roles in vehicle safety and maintenance, targeting specific model years and distinct mounting locations that are rarely interchangeable. You will not find a single part that satisfies both needs because one is designed to replace the primary rear signal cluster while the other enhances visibility from the center of the roofline. Understanding this distinction is critical before you begin shopping for bike racks or any other towing accessories, as the lighting system often dictates how equipment mounts or interacts with the vehicle's rear profile.
• Boine Left Driver Side offers a durable ABS plastic housing designed specifically for the left-hand side of older Ford F-150s, trading off the complexity of modern electronics for straightforward reliability and a direct fit.
• SUPAREE LED 3rd brings high-power LED technology with an IP68 waterproof rating and a dual-function white cargo lamp, trading off the simplicity of a standard bulb for advanced visibility and weather resistance.
• Choose Boine if you own a 2004 through 2008 Ford F-150 and need to restore the original look and function of the driver-side tail assembly without modifying the wiring harness.
• Choose SUPAREE if you drive a 2014–2019 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado and require a brighter, safer braking signal plus practical utility lighting for loading gear at night.
The Boine Left Driver Side tail light is built for a very specific era of truck ownership. If you are maintaining a 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 Ford F-150, this unit is engineered to match the exact specifications required for those model years. The product replaces specific part numbers like 5L3Z13405CA and 6L3Z13405BA, ensuring that the physical dimensions align perfectly with the factory body lines. This precision is vital when you are considering adding a bike rack or hitch mount; the light must sit flush against the frame so that no brackets interfere with the installation hardware. The design relies on high-quality ABS plastic, which provides a robust shell capable of withstanding road debris and daily wear without cracking under pressure.
For the driver who values simplicity, this unit is a plug-and-play solution. The manufacturer explicitly states that it requires no complex coding or adapter modules. However, the lack of included installation guides means you should be comfortable watching video tutorials or seeking professional assistance if the fitment feels tight. This is not a product for someone looking to upgrade their lighting technology; it is a restoration piece. It returns the vehicle to its intended state with enough brightness for nighttime driving but does not offer the super-bright LED arrays found in newer aftermarket parts. If your current light is cracked or the lens is faded, this part restores the visual integrity of the truck's rear end.

You should skip this option if your vehicle is anything other than a 2004–2008 Ford F-150. The compatibility list is strict, and attempting to force this into a later model year or a different brand will result in misalignment and potential electrical issues. Furthermore, if you are looking for a light that doubles as a cargo work lamp or has enhanced weather sealing beyond standard plastic housings, this unit lacks those features. It is a functional, reliable component for a classic truck, but it does not try to be something it is not. It serves the driver who wants to get back on the road quickly with a part that fits the original equipment standards.
The SUPAREE LED 3rd brake light targets owners of 2014–2018 GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado models, including the 2019 LD versions and the heavy-duty 2500HD and 3500HD variants. Its primary strength lies in its ability to significantly improve visibility for drivers behind you. By utilizing a high-power LED chip, it creates a much brighter red signal during braking compared to the stock incandescent bulbs often found in these trucks. This increased intensity is a genuine safety feature, especially in heavy traffic or poor weather conditions where reaction times are critical. The inclusion of a white LED cargo lamp adds a layer of utility that stock lights simply do not provide, allowing you to unload gear or inspect your load safely in the dark.
Weather resistance is another major selling point for this unit. The product features an IP68 waterproof rating, achieved through a high-density foam liner and a fully sealed housing. This construction ensures that rain, snow, and fog will not penetrate the light assembly, preventing the common issue of water damage that plagues older third-brake lights. The black housing blends seamlessly with the rear window trim, maintaining the aesthetic of the truck while upgrading the functionality. Installation is designed to be straightforward, requiring only the removal of the original light and plugging the new unit into the factory socket. No rewiring or modification to the harness is necessary, which makes it accessible even for those with limited mechanical experience.
This product is ideal for truck owners who frequently haul loads or use their vehicles for work-related tasks. The combination of the bright red brake light and the white cargo light means you have two essential functions in one compact assembly. If you often load bikes, kayaks, or tools late in the evening, the white LED is a game-changer for safety and convenience. However, if you drive a vehicle outside the specified compatibility range, this part will not fit. It is also worth noting that while the LED technology is superior for brightness, the focus here is strictly on the third brake light position. It does not replace the main taillights or turn signals, serving only the high-mount center position.

• Best for Safety Visibility → SUPAREE LED 3rd: Offers high-power LEDs that cut through darkness and bad weather better than standard bulbs.
• Best for Nighttime Utility → SUPAREE LED 3rd: Includes a dedicated white cargo lamp for safe unloading, a feature missing from the Boine unit.
• Best for Weatherproofing → SUPAREE LED 3rd: Features IP68 waterproofing with sealed housing and foam liners for extreme conditions.
• Best for Restoration → Boine Left Driver Side: Maintains the OEM look and feel for older F-150s without changing the vehicle's character.
• Best for Heavy-Duty Trucks → SUPAREE LED 3rd: Compatible with 2500HD and 3500HD models, covering a wider range of heavy-duty applications.
• Best for Simple Replacement → Boine Left Driver Side: Designed to match specific OEM part numbers for a direct swap without extra components.
• Best for Enhanced Functionality → SUPAREE LED 3rd: Combines braking and cargo lighting into a single, modern LED unit.
In my opinion, the choice between these two comes down entirely to what vehicle you drive and what specific problem you are solving. I would buy the SUPAREE LED 3rd for any 2014–2019 GM truck owner because the added safety of brighter LEDs and the practical benefit of the white cargo light make it a clear upgrade over the stock part. The IP68 waterproofing alone justifies the switch for anyone living in areas with harsh winters or heavy rain. However, if you are restoring a 2004–2008 Ford F-150, the Boine Left Driver Side is the only logical choice because it is the only one that fits that specific generation. Neither product is "better" in a vacuum; they are specialized tools for different jobs. When you are selecting a bike rack, knowing which light you have ensures you don't accidentally block the view or interfere with the mounting points.
