When you reduce the number of breaths, you accidentally lowering your oxygen supply reducing your ability to be efficient. In fact, you can become red, dizzy, lightheaded, and exhausted.
Inhale a full breath before you start to lift (Eccentric Phase)
Begin to exhale as you lift the weight (Concentric Phase)
Thus, you have to become mindful of your breathing and notice if you are prone to holding your breath and make necessary adjustments.
