I have a lot to list the past few months, but I want to harp to the more positive and consuming part of it in this as I don't think much would refer to nor I would like to relay the poorly cemented part of it all here. With that said, I can finally express a lot in words in regards of the number one princess in the world... Hatsune Miku! Well... it is not just her, but she is a major contributor to this. I should clarify that I was always aware of Miku and generally Vocaloid as a whole at such young age, just not overly invested into the community part of Vocaloid. I still recall myself listening to Gumi being used in CrusherP's ECHO and Anamanaguchi's Miku song. I always comeback to them after a few months in-between finding new Vocaloid artists but I don't stick too long with it. Some months here, some not there, that is just how the cycle goes. Well, that cycle happened again a few months ago with me just looking into some more VGMs I never have heard of just to see if I can be introduced to anything else, then out of the blue, down to the tie as well... Miku shows up once again. I do not recall what in specific got me back onboard this time, though I would like to fault Quaver (an open-source rhythm game on steam) for letting me hear some of the songs Miku shows up in being charted and fun to play by a random user. However what did stick was TAK's MochiMochi! I saw it as a teaser on Twitter, decided to stick around to see it. It has since made me cherish that song and stick to TAK as a producer I can harp to for years to come. I got into a few more here and there too. Even got to reunite with Gumi and find out a little more about Teto than I knew before. Om and JamieP has my heart for Teto content is safe to say, been having their tracks on loop much like how I have TAK's and two more other individuals. I thought it would be that same cycle as I mentioned, just having these songs in the back being able to refer to them in the future whenever time swings by, but I was not ready for the next bombshell I was about to witness. Miku lost her backpack... where would that be...? WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE IS GOING TO BE IN FORTNITE??? I was never invested into Fortnite being entirely honest, I had friends talk me down to getting it and I stayed for a bit when they had Mega City... I think it was called that? I Really stayed for Festival and Lego, but I gave in and stopped playing with occasional visits to Lego to do nothing. I have heard a few mentions of Miku and Fortnite together a couple of times, but it never really clicked until I saw some more Twitter posts exploding about it. That was also when I started looking more into the community side of Vocaloid. I learned some neat stuff here and there but a lot of bad sprinkled in too, moreover with Project Sekai stuff (I was aware of this mobile game before, however I just don't like rhythm mobile games all that much with how controls are handled,) being apparently something bad to view, yet I never saw how, so it was really weird to see that hate push for it on top of the random shaming to people new to the Vocaloid scene which makes me question why that is such a big deal other than being a generic "oh your opinion isn't right" situation like other things I've seen and invested my time into. Regardless, I had fun just looking at everything as I already mentioned. Later on, Fortnite came up during my whole cycle properly with Miku, which was what changed my entire direction with everything. Miku, or rather Vocaloid has from that moment been connected into my list of hyper fixations permanently and it'll be kept that way! I find this super funny too, something I have seen so far long ago has caught me yet again and I bring it back into my arms with care to inherit it as a whole this time around. I like to see how it ties back into my interests too as everything I like has been at least referenced or in some way displayed once in one way or another... except for NGO as that is still fairly new, but if that has a mention of Sonic in some way, I expect to see NGO fly around somewhere other than Miku covers for the songs related to it. Back to Fortnite now, she came in the item shop and I of course had to get her right from the start when I got the chance to. Her model isn't the best being fair, however it in turn made her look super silly and just like a curious animal discovering the world like a goldfish and I think she is perfect just as is in the model for how she looks in that way. The promotional content for Miku did not aid in the slightest so it was really pleasing to see her in full display and action! In terms of Jam Tracks though, a little to go over. Miku was leaked to be one of the songs if I recall, so I went ahead and listen to it a lot to see how I can prepare myself as she was going to get plenty more for being the Festival Icon this Festival season. Afterwards was Daisy 2.0, which I have never heard of. Safe to say, glad I have never heard of it nor seen people talk about it as while the song is nice as is, calling it a Vocaloid song or downright a Miku song is just wrong as she only gets a few lines here and there... not my ideal Miku song. Last leak was SAWTOWNE's M@gical Cure which I felt like was to come as the emote Miku Miku Beam leak was dropped already. This one I did hear already, just didn't invest too much into the music structure until the leak dropped. There was another song left but nobody knew what it was so seeing it was a real surprise to me. Enter the Miku update article and reading the name of the song stunned me. In fine print, it wrote... "'World is Mine' Jam Track from ryo (supercell)." That was an instant shocker! A song I cherished for so long and even replayed constantly alongside the other songs on a daily basis be in the list is quite stunning, especially with the aforementioned songs being strictly using the Miku English Voice bank only. It felt SUPER nice to just play these songs in both gameplay or just to hear really. I spent a lot of time with this and just have so much fun and grew a little more invested into the game because of this. Few days later... new Miku item shop things! There was one exclusive Rocket League item though that was transferable to Fortnite too, so I got it. The article for Rocket League mentioned another Miku song being Melt by ryo (supercell) and I thought that would also transfer to Fortnite, but sadly it didn't. I was so planning on expecting a chart for it in Festival, but oh well we can't have everything we want and I am okay with that. I have never played Rocket League either so I think it is need to relay that I do not like playing it, neither was leveling up fun and I am glad I got what I wanted from it already and don't need to touch it again. Anyways, I got the extra Miku cosmetics and I adore them. I was hopping more of a Good Smile Racing Miku design to be what was promoted for the car, but it was pretty standard which is fine but SUCH a missed opportunity!!! As of typing this, the Miku Cyclone stuff is gone from the Item Shop, I took too long typing this! Moreover, Fortnite seem to of gotten back with Crypton Future Media to release a special Miku themed Sweater for content creators or whatever. I do hope a specific Twitter user gets their own and maybe a public release of it since I would totally rock that sweater where and whenever I can. Project Sekai also seems to have gotten a movie of their game where they help a Miku who can't sing be able to be popular and whatnot. The movie right seem to have been acquired in the United States too! April 11 should be when it swings by and I will be sure to check it out, even if I don't catch up on project Sekai stuff. I also looked into playing some Project Diva for the first time through emulation as I never owned a Playstation in my life and this was the best I can do. I am still getting used to it, but it is real fun! Project Diva F2nd is my preferred so far of the ones I have tried but we will see if that changes once I try the other Miku titles alongside whenever I can get my hands on MegaMix Plus. Atena finished their song "Odochina" and I really love it. Been seeing it from when it was just a short video to later become this and I really hope they push out more stuff since I really love their style. There is a lot more I can talk about, but I think I have highlighted the important parts. Miku is such a cool character and I love everything about her. I am so glad I have the opportunity to be graced by her through then and now countless times and I wouldn't have it another way. Here's to the future where I have shelves stock piled with a lot of Miku Merch and maybe a visit to one of the Miku Expos some day! I will be wait for the number one princess to call and show me her world.
