I am Benjamín Alexis Navarrete Rivas, PhD student at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA).
My research interest is the physics of galaxies at the first billion years after the Big-Bang. I did masters in the Astronomy Department of Universidad de Chile (DAS); former member of the Chilean Astronomical Society (SOCHIAS) Whitelist which gives access to world class ground-based telescopes through the Chilean Telescope Allocation Committee (CNTAC); and former associated scientist at the Center for Astrophysics and Associated Tecnologies (CATA).
I am also a huge enthusiastic outside academy. I love teaching and science communication. I believe we have a tremendous responsability with people: Non communicated science is not science.
I am from Chile, land of clear skies and telescopes, deserts and forests, sea and mountains...
I am passionate about football, both playing and watching. I like dystopic literature and horror movies. Exploring cities and food is the best, and I enjoy chatting about everything as long as I can learn something new.
I also love to spending time with beloved members of my family: Cacique, Lucky, Mao, Peluche, Pirata & Kira. Their adorable paws and inconditional love are all everyone needs in this world. This website is also in memoriam of those who have left us, we will always love them.
This is where we are working now!
