About the Book:
Access to multimedia systems and content over the Internet has grown immensely in the last decade. Nowadays, various tools are available that can easily be used to edit and synthesize multimedia data. Therefore, security has become one of the most notable challenges for sharing multimedia content over the Internet and cloud environments. It is essential to prevent misappropriation, illegal copying, and misrepresentation of digital images, audios, and videos because these multimedia data can quickly be copied and produced without losing the information. It is also necessary to ascertain where and how much a multimedia file differs from its original version. Hence, it is required to develop the technologies that can assist in protecting the privacy and integrity of digital data and secure the intellectual- property rights of owners. For this purpose, multimedia encryption, watermarking and steganography techniques are getting prominence in recent years. These techniques succor in protecting all types of multimedia data such as video, audio, and images. This is highly demanding in e-commerce and distributed production processes because the yielders seek to implement access control mechanisms to restrict the misuse and theft of their data or material.
This book focuses on such methods and tools like encryption, steganography, watermarking, authentication, and digital signatures that help in protecting the unauthorized access/ alteration of the multimedia over the Internet and cloud. This book will also cover the application of machine learning, blockchain and AI based methods for multimedia security.
In a deeper perspective, it covers the broad research pathway for multimedia security and its analysis to determine different challenges and issues related to the field. Such use cases would be covered through different techniques and methodologies for watermarking, steganography, and forensics.
This book is written for the audience of the Computer and Information Science discipline which will help them to get a better understanding of multimedia security and its applications. This book provides the information about basics of multimedia processing and the different tools and techniques available to protect multimedia content from unauthorized access and modification. It is an emerging area with many opportunities for growth in a variety of applications like healthcare, entertainment, agriculture, government documentation, education, etc. Additionally, the book throws light on few case studies which will provide a platform and a detailed and real-time view of the subject for further research.
