This privacy policy explains how the Android app BLE Scanner & Tracker Detector ("the app"), published on Google Play by Four Hub ("we"), handles information.
There is no account and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Bluetooth scan results, your favorites and the names you give devices stay on your phone.
The app uses Google and other services for ads, analytics, crash reports and purchases. Those services collect device identifiers and usage information, as described below.
Nearby Bluetooth and BLE devices: the app reads device names, hardware addresses, signal strength, services and characteristics to show them to you. The app does not send this information to us or to any third party.
Device history and favorites: to label devices consistently, the app keeps a local list of devices it has seen (hardware address, name, device type, and the last signal strength and time seen). It also keeps the favorites and custom names you save. This list is stored only in the app's database on your phone.
Tracker detection: the app checks Bluetooth advertisements for known trackers, such as Apple AirTag, Samsung SmartTag, Tile and Chipolo. Results are shown on screen only. They are not stored or sent anywhere.
Android backup: if you have Android's backup turned on, the app's local data may be included in your own device backup, which Google stores under your Google account settings.
Nearby devices (Bluetooth scan and connect, Android 12 and later): to find, list and connect to nearby Bluetooth devices. Scanning is declared as never used to determine your location.
Bluetooth (older Android versions): the same purpose on older phones.
Location (Android 11 and earlier only): older Android versions require it for Bluetooth scanning. The app does not use it to determine or store your location.
Internet: for ads, analytics, crash reports and purchases.
Versions before 1.17 also requested the Bluetooth advertise permission. The app never used it, and version 1.17 removes it.
The app uses the services below. Each one collects information directly from the app under its own privacy policy.
Google AdMob. Used for: showing ads in the free version, measuring them and preventing ad fraud. Collects: advertising ID and other device identifiers, IP address (which gives an approximate location), device and app information, ad interactions. Privacy policy
Meta Audience Network, through AdMob. Used for: some of the ads shown through AdMob. Collects: device identifiers, device information, ad interactions. Privacy policy
Google User Messaging Platform. Used for: asking for and storing your ad consent where the law requires it, such as the EU and UK. Collects: your consent choices. Privacy policy
Google Analytics for Firebase. Used for: understanding how the app is used and measuring our ad campaigns. Collects: app instance ID, advertising ID where permitted, screens viewed, sessions, purchase events, device information, approximate location from IP address. Privacy policy
Firebase Crashlytics. Used for: finding and fixing crashes. Collects: crash reports, device model and Android version, installation identifiers. Privacy policy
Firebase Remote Config. Used for: changing app settings without an update. Collects: an installation identifier. Privacy policy
RevenueCat. Used for: processing Pro purchases and subscriptions. Collects: a random anonymous user ID, purchase history (product, price, dates), your Google Analytics app instance ID. Privacy policy
Google Play. Used for: taking payment. Collects: your payment details. We never see them. Privacy policy
To run the app: unlock Pro after a purchase and restore it on a new phone.
To show ads in the free version. Pro removes ads.
To understand and improve the app, and to fix crashes.
To measure our advertising: when you buy Pro, RevenueCat sends the purchase (product, price and currency) to Google Analytics, linked to the app instance ID. This helps us see which of our ads bring paying users. It does not include your name, email address or payment details.
To prevent fraud and abuse of ads and purchases.
We do not ask for, store or share your name, email address, phone number or precise location. We share information only with the services listed above, or where the law requires it.
The app's feedback screen opens your own email app. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply to you.
Ad consent: where consent is required, such as the EU and UK, you can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Privacy Settings.
Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in your phone's Android settings, under Privacy > Ads (the exact path varies by phone).
Ads: buying Pro removes all ads from the app.
Permissions: you can turn off Nearby devices or Location for the app in Android settings at any time. Scanning stops working without them.
Local data: you can remove favorites and custom names in the app. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it deletes everything stored on your phone.
Information on your phone stays until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
The services listed above keep information according to their own retention policies. For example, Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
The app has no accounts, so we hold no profile that identifies you by name or email.

All information sent by the app and the services above travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We do not run our own servers that receive your data.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
